Ball Screws

We have developed highly specialized ball screws that are import substitutes through in-house R&D efforts. MTAR is the sole manufacturer of ball screws in India and we supply these highly specialized products to the demanding sectors such as Nuclear, Defence and Space.


Capabilities of MTAR Ball Screws:

  • Screw Length up to 7 meters.
  • Diameter from 10mm to 100mm, L/D achievable: 20.
  • Lead: 4mm to 32mm.
  • Accuracy Class – C1, C2, C3, C5 & C7.
  • Internal and External Circulation.
  • Single and Multi Start.
  • Experience in various types of Materials including 17-4 PH, 13-8 MO, 440 C, 4150 Material Grades.

MTAR is in the process of developing associated technology for Roller Screws.

MTAR Precisions Ball Screws have two kinds of recirculating systems.

  • External Recirculating Type – In which the Balls are recirculated in the Ball return tube setup on the nut. Again, this is classified into two types:
    • Tube inside the nut locating diameter
    • Tube outside the nut locating diameter
  • Internal Recirculating Type – In which the Balls make one revolution of the screw shaft and the circuit is closed by ball return cap/deflector in the nut allowing the ball to cross over adjacent ball tracks.

MTAR to meet global standards manufactures various types of Ball Screws to meet customer requirements as per their specification. Some of the Special Ball Screws manufactured by MTAR are as Follows:

Roller Screws

Currently, we have commenced the developmental activity for roller screws that are import substitutes and the company is involved in developing the associated technology. Post the development, we shall be the sole supplier of roller screws in India.
